Many make claims that are simply ‘overclaims’ and some are even down-right lies. Nowhere is this more true than when dealing with cancer. No drug, no vitamin, no herbal concoction. Indeed, we abhor the companies that send out press releases misleadingly saying that their product ´improves survival´, or even ´cures´ cancer. It´s rubbish, and sheer quackery. The supplements and the pharmaceutical industries can both be guilty of this. We are not particularly enamoured with synthetic vitamins and supplements – there are a number of studies casting doubt on their benefits. However, we do believe that a number of natural compounds are being shown to offer health advantages, especially when used as part of a thorough package of beneficial activities.
